A little about this fabulous company…..

Cahoots provides you with fabulous handbags made of vintage upholstery fabrics and alternative vintage textiles. Because our fabrics are irreplaceable and only allow a couple of bags, its often a buy-it-while-you-can-get-it arrangement. Once something is sold, its kissed gently goodbye.

We believe in high-quality handmade items and in working our fingers to the bone instead of the hands of child workers in Southeast Asian countries.  We provide fabulous vegan handbag alternatives for the animal activists of the world.  We believe that a handbag has the potential to replace the security blanket of your childhood and that making you think of your grandmother’s couch, apron, or tablecloth is the nicest gift we could possibly give you.

We believe that the relationship between ourselves and our customers should be as personal as your relationship to your fabulous handbag.  We believe in immediate communication, not putting customers on hold, and maintaining the quality and integrity of our product by handling every aspect of our business ourselves.  Our customers are special and they deserve special bags.

Cahoots have been featured as a “must-have fashion” on Good Morning Texas and have been made a Bust Magazine editor’s pick. We’ve been featured in the pages of magazines such as Jane, PISTIL, Woman International, Lucky, Venus, Indulge, Clutch, Country Lifestyle, Westside,  Brides of North Texas, and Shut Up.  Our bags were given to the nominees at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards Red Carpet Style Lounge and were also given to top celebrities at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards

Our flagship store and studio are located in the historic George Y Bird building on the courthouse square in Gainesville, Texas

Again, the rules are simple :: All you need to do is head on over to our Facebook Fan Page and tell us the most obscure or random item you have ever found in your purse. We only need one answer from each person. Look for our question and be sure to answer it there. The winner will be randomly selected from the answers. GSS Tips From an Expert :: Olfaction :: Sweet Flower Scents

I really enjoyed reading the reasons why my friends like each particular flower.   The association of the flower itself, the smell and memories that each flower invoked was more than I asked for, but this is what flowers do to and for us…[read more]

We were first drawn to this wedding when we saw the rings…they are so awesome! The bold style of the couple and carefree atmosphere is so evident. Enjoy!!

Amber and Matt met at Amber’s parent’s 25th wedding anniversary dinner. Matt was the sommolier at the restaurant and Amber was a guest. He asked her about her tattoos, and the rest is history! They had a small wedding with only 16 guests at the Ashby Inn, in Paris VA, an eco-friendly venue. They had a 9 course meal, paired with different wines chose by Matt, who is currently the sommolier and general manager at Rouge 24, the hottest new restaurant in DC. Their ceremony featured songs by the Postal Service, sung by a close friend. Amber designed the programs, favor boxes and invitations. After dinner, the guests were treated to a bonfire with homemade marsh mallows and gourmet hot chocolate.

GSS Wedding Tips :: Take Great Care of your Wedding Pros

Some of you know I am also a Dallas wedding photographer. I love being able to share stories from the wedding vendor side of the industry. I photographed Tamra’s Dallas wedding in 2009 and that’s how we connected. I am so very fortunate to have such kind clients who always welcome me into their homes and their families. At the end of the day, I feel like I am able to create memories they will cherish forever.  I also love hearing from other wedding professionals these same great stories. Couples take care of us. The mother of the bride may bring us water in the middle of the formals to make sure we are staying hydrated. Brides will seat us with guests during dinner at the wedding to make sure we have been fed. These little things NEVER go unnoticed by wedding professionals. We greatly appreciate being taken care of while we are giving extra attention to every detail to make sure the Bride and Groom are being cared for as well. I recently was in Houston, Texas helping out a great friend and fellow Dallas Wedding Photographer, Lindsey Shea. If you don’t know who she is, go check out her blog and be amazed with the gorgeous wedding imagery there! The wedding was a 14+ hour wedding. We talked the night before about how we were going to bring along energy bars, water and possibly make it to a drive through between locations to keep our energy levels up during the wedding. After all, who wants a wedding photographer with plummeting blood sugar levels? The couple and their family welcomed us and encouraged us to eat with them, to celebrate the day with them. At dinner all guests were served a 7 course meal and we were seated along side them.

Some couples will offer their wedding vendors a vendor meal away from the guests. This is perfect as well.
