Tuesday Trousseau :: Bridal Wedding Flats That Make a Statement!

Bridal wedding flats and low heels can be worn on your wedding day for many reasons. The first of which is comfort. There is no need to not enjoy your evening only to have your feet looking like a million dollars. Your wedding images will suffer and so will you if you are in pain. We have showed you these super easy wedding shoe alternatives if you still want to drop jaws and look radiant on your wedding day. Maybe you are a taller gal and feel more comfortable in flats….we have a great solution to both of these.

Say goodbye to the boring ballerina shoe. You can still lace up and look radiant, but know YOU DO have options. There are some pretty awesome bridal flats on the market today.

We LOVE Toms. Their mission to give back, the comfort of their shoes. C’mon, how could we not? The cool part of their site is that they do have a wedding collection. You are able to browse and see if that fits your style.

We also fell in deep love with these super adorable flats from Badgley Mischka. They are so romantic and whimsical. They still scream style and grace!

Don’t feel like you can’t find a great pair of flats or that you just have to wear pumps because you should. There are possibilities out there. We showed you a semi-casual flat and then a dressier flat for weddings. You do what feels right to your feet and yourself.

Tuesday Trousseau :: Alternative Wedding Send Off Ideas

You have enjoyed your day, your wedding was a huge celebration of the love you share for one another, and now its time to wind down and make your grand exit. A send-off can be a huge reflection of your personal style and really show your guests the grand finale of the evening. We have seen so many great wedding trends lately with new and fun ways for a wedding to exit in style, but we still love some of the most memorable wedding exits. We start with the standards….

The Wedding Bird Seed Exit ::

image from Luster Studios

This is a great alternative to the rice option. A safer option for the birds just in case they want to swoop in after your get-a-way and grab a bite. The upside (aside from being an environmentally friendly option) is…it makes for great images and the guests get to join in the fun and test their aim. One of the downsides is the guests get to test their aim as you make your grand finale from your wedding. Its safe to say most couples will be swiftly moving through the exit line with their eyes closed so they can avoid bird seeds to the eyes.

The Fun-Fetti (confetti) Wedding Exit ::

We love this option for a fun wedding exit. They make biodegradable options that are safe for the environment and they come in a multitude of color options. The opportunity for great images from this wedding exit are huge. You are certain to look back at this wedding finale as a fun energized event. Great for any hugely fun couple to express themselves with their wedding choices.

Streamer Wedding Exit ::

This wedding send-off idea is also in the fun category. You can see the excitement on the couple’s faces as they are making their way to the end of their guests during the grand exit from the wedding.

Paper Airplane Wedding Exit ::

This idea really strikes our fancy. We love the idea of incorporating this bit of whimsy to your wedding exit. Too much fun – paper-airplanes!

image from Chelsea Elizabeth

You don’t have to break the bank with this fun idea. You could actually make your own paper airplanes and bring in colors from your nuptials. The kids (and adults) will really enjoy soaring you off to your new lives together with this fun wedding exit idea.

There really are so many fun and unique ways to define your first exit as a couple. We would love to see what you choose for your own wedding!

GSS Tuesday Trousseau :: Flower Alternatives for Groom’s Boutonniere

We love finding ideas for fun alternatives for flowers. This is an inexpensive option for a groom or groomsman’s boutonniere. LINEN! After the wedding you can wear it as a brooch on a favorite sun dress. These came from a store we found on Etsy from Quotes and Notes. The idea is fantastic. They take a simple piece of linen covered in love notes and create a gorgeous flower. It could be a favorite poem, a love note from your sweetheart, a quote from your favorite author, your favorite song, your favorite verse….the options are limitless. This is a HUGE love for us :)

We wouldn’t leave you with just one option. We found another great place that offers non-flower options for your groom and his men! Its a great statement to really get your personality out there for the world to see. Feathers, berries, and even brass. Check out Pomp and Plumage’s store on etsy for more boutonniere inspiration.

GSS Tuesday Trousseau :: Wedding Entertainment Ideas :: Pucker Up Impressions

We are excited to bring you an entertainment idea for your wedding. That super entertainer is Pucker Up Lip Impressions. We met Kathryn from Puckerup Impressions last year during Alice in Weddingland. She was a huge hit at the party and has since been traveling all over providing lipstick readings at private parties, weddings and more! We were able to catch up with her a bit and she told us the cutest story!

It was three years ago, when the handsome couple approached me on their first date. She sat at the table with me and he stood behind her chair. The first date tension in the air was nearly palpable. After they selected their lipsticks I forwent the typical “look at each other as you kiss your card” since they had not yet kissed and just had them both kiss their individual cards. They had the same kissing styles and congruent ideals of romance, I mentioned that she needed someone who was willing to communicate but that she made others earn her trust. The hopeful suitor studied what I said and her reaction, hoping to gleam some insight to win her over. When I moved on to discuss what his needs were in a romantic situation, I saw the pleading in his eyes, not to let her know how much he already cared. She listened intently and before the reading was over I knew. They were PERFECT for each other though I could not tell them so for fear of ruining it all. Three years later, they found me and invited me to be a part of their wedding.

Kathryn told us there are so many wonderful details one can find out about a person through their lip print. Are they passionate, a snuggler, how do they feel about PDA? (Public Displays of Affection) Do they have a tidy home, office, can they tell a lie or keep a secret? Here are some lip prints and some surprising things that I discerned about the kissers.

We also asked Kathryn to share a few readings with us and let us know what her reading was from each lipstick impression…

Kiss One
This kisser has a taste for the finer things in life and is meticulous about taking care of her things. She works to maintain consistent physical fitness, is wise in the ways of social pleasantries and needs a partner who fits in those ways. Her romantic partner has to be an equal who loves to snuggle and yet values and maintains their independence. An ideal romantic evening for her is one with fine foods, clothing and intimate yet stimulating conversations especially if on a beach. Location is important to this kisser to stimulate romance as they are not a fan of boisterous environments.

Kiss Two
The adventurer this kisser needs someone fun who adores trying new things. From 365 ways to kiss your love to unusual ethnic cuisines he has trouble with monotony and the status quo. While he will spend very little time in a gym you would likely see him on the slopes or behind a boat skiing. The ideal partner for him would be a person who challenged him, who also feels the need to try everything! He works as hard as he plays and has an extreme passion for sharing the fruits of his labors with the ones that he loves. Do not however ask him to engage in any organizational tasks like re-working the file cabinets or sock drawer as he has no time or desire to work on such things.

Kiss Three
Creative and whimsical this kisser loves to have fun, fun, fun! While a bit of an adventurer she still prefers to stay at the Ritz Carlton to a quite secluded cabin on Lake Tahoe. Extremely particular her choices in men tend to roam the gambit. She needs an independent equal who knows how to dress himself and who doesn’t consistently feel the need to be the center of attention as that is her place. While she insists on a clean and tidy home she has a maid to attend to this. Her decorating styles are as varied as her tastes in men, each room sporting a different feel from a different part of the world.

Thanks so much Kathryn…your work is so fun and we are happy to know you. Be sure to check out her site and find out about booking information for your next event.

GSS Tuesday Trousseau :: Catering for Your Wedding

Thinking about food your wedding can be a daunting task. Don’t worry, there are some excellent pros out there that can create your dream menu for you and your guests to orchestrate a perfect feast. This weekend we had the pleasure of sampling some fantastic treats from Low Country Quisine. We were able to sample mac-n-cheese with a fancy spin on it, crab cakes so dreamy we were running back for more and the prettiest strawberries filled with a sweet treat.

We found an interview with her on Sweet Pea Events‘ page and Enjolik writes ::

How did you get started in the Catering business?

As a small child I spent my summers in Charleston, SC with my grandparent who cooked all three meals every single day without fail! So my love for food came at an early age, I’d say around 4 or 5! Since my mom never learned to cook, I took on the role of cook for my family. Around 2007 I realized that people were always asking me to cook for parties and events. At that point it literally came to me in the middle of the night; I could combine my passion for food and entertaining with my background in sales & marketing. I thought about my fondest memories of food and I kept going back to the food I ate with my grandparents, Low Country food. Hence the name Low Country Quisine by Jolie’ Ramize. My business started in 2007 as a part-time venture and at that point I didn’t take on any bridal clients because I felt that weddings were events that would require full-time attention. In 2009, we prepared to take the business full-time and we catered our 1st wedding for 150 guests and the rest is history! I love working with brides and their families. After all, the food is one of the most important elements of that special day.

What would you say makes your style or personality unique from other Caterer?

I think my personality is different from other caterers because I have a strong background in sales which makes it easier for me uncover my clients needs. When clients know that you’re taking care of the things that are important to them it makes for a great working relationship. The same is true when I work directly with wedding planners. It’s our goal to make their job easier. They trust that we’ll deliver what we’ve promised and then some!

It was so great spending some time with her on Sunday and her food is out of this world! Go check out her site. You are sure to be hungry before you out-click.
