What’s your story/how did you get started in photography?

I have always loved taking photos from Polaroids to cheap toy cameras but my real passion for photography started in high school when I moved from California to Arizona. I had initially gone to a charter school that specialized in performing arts. So when looking for a new high school in Arizona finding a school with killer art programs was key. I happened upon a small charter school that was located in a strip center. The school was like an artists dream land. While there I thought taking a photo class in addition to performing arts classes would be cool. Once I started that black and white photo class I never went back. After high school I went on to California Institute of the Arts and continued my photo education and fell more and more in love with photography.

Describe your style for us?

My style often reflects my clients but generally I would say just fun and relaxed. There are definite Fine Art and Fashion influences since that is where my background is.

Where does your inspiration come from?

My clients and the people around my are my biggest influences.

Who are your clients? What are some of the reasons for your FAVORITE clients?

My clients are brides and grooms in their mid 20’s to late 30’s who are fun and creative. A lot of artists and laid back people who love photography and details. My favorite clients are always the ones who are willing to go the extra mile for their photos, who let loose and let their true personalities shine.

What is your favorite thing about taking photos?

Meeting new people and hearing their stories. I love that my brides often become great friends of mine.

What is your favorite part of the wedding to photograph?

I love the getting ready/details time. Everyone is so anxious and excited :) Also I love the time I get to spend with the bride and groom for their First Look or right after the ceremony.

What is your fondest memory about photos/photography? Early childhood memory? Since starting your photography business?

My favorite memories about my early photography experience was always going out and about and meeting new people everywhere and photographing them. Then getting to spend hours processing those photos and bringing them back to life in the dark room. I love creating and fine tuning my photographs. I absolutely love visual storytelling and my clients allow me to do that.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Continuing to do what I love and meeting rad Brides and Grooms

Thanks so much for sharing your rad images with us, Marianne and welcome to the GSS team of awesome wedding vendors!
