Introducing Gracy Luxe :: Gracylu Originals Couture Bridal Line!!!

Happy Friday, Lovelies!  The weekend is finally beginning!  Back in 2010 we fell head over heels in love with Gracylu Originals’ GORGEOUS headpieces and sashes.  (You can see our previous post about Gracylu Originals by clicking here.)  And just when we thought we couldn’t love Tristan’s (founder of Gracylu Originals) pieces more…  She has now expanded her brand and created an absolutely stunning couture bridal line named Gracy Luxe! OH. MY. GOODNESS…. We just about died when we saw her new pieces, which include but are not limited to:  Hair fascinators, bolero jackets, blushers and veils.  She also creates custom ordres as well.  So, without further ado, we are so excited to introduce you to Gracy Luxe!

“Hello friends!

Welcome to my brand new online home, Gracy Luxe! I’m thrilled you’re here and hope you’ll feel as cozy here as I do.2012 has brought some amazing changes to my life and business – and as I reign in my focus on what’s truly important (my faith & my family), the next path of my journey has become incredibly clear: GracyLu Originals is growing up. She’s been my baby in every sense of the word and I thank you all for your constant love and support of this little business of mine. The time has come however for an evolution. GracyLu is every so gracefully stepping aside to allow her gorgeous ‘older sister’ to step in.So please join me in warmly welcoming Gracy Luxe to the family! She’s older and wiser, full of wisdom and romance. She harbors elegance and whimsy, she hasabsolutely and completely stolen my heart. With my focus shifting to not only include but put my family first, I knew some change was in order. When GracyLu Originals was born I had no idea the vast places it would take me and the sheer amount of time and energy and love that would go into it. In order to continue to flourish, I decided Gracy Luxe needed a team.
A team of ‘siblings’ if you will that together create the whole of the family. These talented artists from far and wide stand by my side, ensuring you see gorgeous photos, a beautiful web site, and of course the loveliest of products.I am beyond excited to venture into this new line, and look so forward to you, my friends, joining me. Stay tuned in the days and weeks ahead as I introduce Gracy Luxe to you all. Until then, bookmark and visit often!

Lots of love, T”

GSS Featured Anniversary Session :: Madelyn & Justin’s Romantic Vintage AND Sexy Modern Inspired Anniversary Photo Session :: Crave Photography

It’s FRIDAY!!! And boy, do we have a special treat in store for you today!  Remember a few weeks back when we featured the phenomenal pieces of Gracylu Originals by Tristian Skidmore (click here to see the post)???  Well, we fell head over heels in love with a particular image in that feature and just HAD to share with you the entire photoshoot.  This anniversary photo session comes from Andee Tate of Crave Photography and it just blows our minds!  Crave Photography is a Utah based wedding and lifestyle photographer.  Andee has been so sweet and accommodating to GSS and we have truly enjoyed working with her on this feature.

So without further ado, we present to you the pure awesomeness of Madelyn & Justin’s Vintage AND Modern Anniversary Photo Session!  Madelyn was kind enough to answer a few questions for us:

How did you and your husband meet?  My husband and I met in a student ward. We grew up 15 minutes apart from one another in very small towns. We missed each other by  1 year in high school. It was by chance that I happened to go to a ward that I wasn’t in boundaries for. I had a boyfriend for the first little while that we knew each other. My husband is a few inches shorter than me, I just couldn’t get over that fact! Haha so for a year or so he kept asking me out and kept trying to get me to go out with him…. After about a year of denying him I decided that I was madly in love with him. We had become best friends and had everything in the world going for us, but because of his height I just refused to accept it, until feelings were too strong for even me to fight. By the time I decided we could date, we were already in love and best friends. We’ve been absolutely inseparable since :)

How long have you been married?  We have been married for a blissful year and a few months.

What has been your favorite part of being married?  My favorite part of being married are the content feelings that follow. The pure happiness and utter bliss that you experience together. I love the journey, the trials and everything that comes along with taking on the world TOGETHER. Having your best friend by your side through everything is an unexplainable blessing.

What advice do you offer to newlyweds?  Honestly, the best advice I could offer is to learn to love the little things. A lot of people get so caught up in nit-picking at each others quirks, when you should just learn to love and laugh at them. NO ONE is perfect, but together I do think perfection to be a natural occurrence in a relationship. You learn to work together, work as one. ENJOY every minute and remember every memory!

What one item off of your wedding registry do you love the most?  My bedding!! I absolutely love taking naps, cuddling and being together. Starting and ending each day with my husband and talking about our day. It’s my retreat.

What made you want to do an anniversary shoot?  Besides wedding photos, there aren’t really a lot of pictures that you have taken. I thought it would be sweet and precious to do an anniversary shoot. Have it be the last thing we have done until we start our family :) and have it be a final reminder of the starting of our life together, and capture our hearts in the photos.

Your photo session has two very different themes:: a very vintage and romantic theme and a very modern and sexy theme.  Can you tell us what was your inspiration behind your photo shoot?  I am absolutely obsessed with 2 things, vintage and fashion, and my husband so I guess 3 things ;) lol. I did a shoot with Crave in an orchard that was very 1920′s-ish and it was one of my favorite shoots. I wanted to incorporate that in our anniversary photos as well as some more modern photos that aren’t so ‘over the top’ if you will. I love finding the outfits and putting them together for the shoot. Andee with crave is amazing at setting up the props and finding perfect locations. I think the inspiration was wanting it to be really intimate and romantic.

What made you choose Andee as your photographer?  I was so drawn to Andee because of her sample bridals that were so vintage and everything I envisioned for my wedding. She was a dream come true, we had a very small budget and we were her first client :) we were both answers to prayers! I have kept in touch with her and done a few shoots with her since and I just absolutely adore her!!!!! She is the most down to earth, talented person I have ever known. She is just divine! Easy to work with, and INCREDIBLE at what she does.

Seriously, how GORGEOUS is the hat by Gracylu Originals in the above images?! SWOON!  Also, this amazing session was stylized by Carolee of Junque Design.  She is absolutely brilliant!

Thank you so much, Andee, for sharing this amazing anniversary session with us!  Please stop by her blog and show her some love!  And thank you, Madelyn, for taking your time to answer our questions!  We wish you and Justin a lifetime full of love, laughter, and happiness!!!  May every day be better than the last!

If you have an engagement, wedding, day after, or anniversary session that you would like featured- Please send it to us at submissions@groomsoldseparately.com.  We HEART submissions!

GSS’s Things We LOVE :: Gracylu Originals Headpieces!!!

We were contacted by the Oh-So-Sweet AND beautiful Tristian of Gracylu Originals a few months ago.  She had heard about GSS and wanted to introduce herself.  We were absolutely blown away by Tristian’s pure talent!  Her pieces are so unbelievably gorgeous and stunning!  We have truly enjoyed getting to know and working with Tristian!  So, we are beyond excited to introduce you to Gracylu Originals!!!

Here is a little bit about Tristian and her company, Gracylu Originals from her website:

Tristian, the inspiring designer of Gracylu Originals, has joyfully been married to her high school sweetheart for seven years. They have two precious children, a handsome boy and a darling girl. The love of her business is due to the unique product she offers her clients as well as the reality that the business provides her with a platform of ministry to express her faith. Gracylu Originals was established two years ago when Tristian began her adventure as innovator and couturier of ravishing hair pieces. Her collection offers an array of fashion sense ranging from soft, lacy vintage, to bold and extravagant colors, and even stunning bridal pieces. Gracylu Originals offers recreations of previous designs as well as contriving custom orders to parallel exactly what the visionary client desires.”

And Tristian was sweet enough to do a little Q & A with us:

How did you get started with Gracylu Originals?
I sometimes tend to be a bit dramatic and over the top. So when I had my daughter Gracylu it just kinda went a bit overboard.  haha!!  I wanted people to see my gorgeous princess so I began to play around with flowers by adding things to them to make them as big and outrageous as possible. She was quite the show stopper. :)

What kind of pieces do you sell?
I sell high end couture photography props, women’s and bridal pieces. Most of them aren’t for everyday wear. They are more for special occasions or when you really want to stand out or have that extra special photo.

What is your price range?
My prices usually start around $40 and go up into the hundreds.

(And she does sashes!!!) Above images courtesy of Linda Holmes Photography.

What is the lead time on a piece?
My current lead time is anywhere from 3-8 weeks or longer. Bridal orders are usually always longer.

Do you create custom orders?
At this time the only custom orders I can accept are bridal. I love custom orders but they are so time consuming I find myself falling behind even more than I normally am.
