Featured Anniversary Session :: Lindsay & Will’s Romantic After Session :: Pam Cooley Photography

Happy Hump Day, Lovelies!!! Today’s fabulous featured anniversary session comes from Pam of Pam Cooley Photography, a Peoria, Illinois based wedding photographer. Pam has been so sweet and accommodating to GSS and we have truly enjoyed working with her on this feature.

Lindsay and Will were married on June 17, 2011 at the Pettengill-Morron House in Peoria, Illinois.  Lindsay was kind enough to answer a few questions for us:

How did you and Will meet?  Will and I had mutual friends before we met. However, we mainly met because I was friends with his FOUR sisters, who were plotting to set us up!

How long have you been married now?  Time flies when you’re having fun– we have been married 11 months already!

What has been your favorite part of being married?  My favorite part of being married is not only having a husband, but also a best friend who is always there for the good times as well as the difficult times.

What advice do you have to offer newlyweds?  Although I can only speak from 11 months of marriage, I have two pieces of advice: communicate, communicate, communicate! And: do everything together– you are a team now!

What one item off of your wedding registry have you love the most?  It is hard to pick a favorite wedding registry item…Will and I love to cook, so I would say any of the kitchen items we received have been used and enjoyed!

What made you want to do an anniversary shoot?   The Anniversary shoot is such a great idea because you are naturally more relaxed and better able to enjoy the process than you can on your wedding day. Plus, we jumped at the opportunity to get in front of Pam’s camera again!

What made you choose Pam as your photographer?  We initially chose Pam after viewing her work on her website. We feel like Pam has an “eye” for beauty and style that we can relate to. After we booked Pam and met her, we fell in love with her fun loving personality.

Thank you so much, Pam, for sharing this amazing anniversary session with us! Please stop by her website and show her some love! And thank you, Lindsay, for taking your time to answer our questions! We wish you and Will a lifetime full of love, laughter, and happiness!!! May every day be better than the last!

GSS Featured Wedding :: Kelli & Jason’s Romantic Black & White Wedding :: Pam Cooley Photography

Today’s featured wedding comes from Pam Cooley of Pam Cooley Photography. She is an Illinois based wedding photographer. Pam has been so accommodating to GSS on this feature.  Thank you!  Kelli and Jason were married on May 21, 2011 in Peoria, Illinois.  Kelli was kind enough to answer a few questions for us:

How did you and Jason meet?  We met freshman year of college.   I think the second week into school. :)

How long have you been together?  We have been together for over 8 years.

How did Jason propose?  Jason proposed on April Fool’s day in Aspen, Co. We were there with his family skiing. We went in to the down town and he had found a gazebo that he thought would be the perfect spot. After some persuasion he got me inside the gazebo, all I was thinking about was how cold I was and I wanted to go home.  All of a sudden he ran ahead of me and as I approached he got down on one knee and proposed to me.  It was the best day of my life!

What sold you on your wedding venue?  My wedding ceremony was at the Contemporary Art Center– Fell in love when I walked in! We had our reception at The Conerstone Building– we chose this because of the unique and romantic feel.

Your dress is gorgeous, where did you get it and how did you know it was “the one”?   I found my dress at Boutique Victoria Couture Bridal in  Chicago on Madison street. It was across from my apartment.  I walked in not thinking I would find a dress- But once I put on my dress and jewelry, I knew I had to have it.  She is a local dress and jewelry designer that only sells/carries her own brand in her store.

What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”?   Something old- My Aunt’s ring from when she turned 16. It is beautiful!   Something borrowed-  My  Sister’s purse she wore on her wedding day.   Something new- My jewelry and dress.   Something blue-  I didn’t do this one but I have blue eyes does that count??

How did you choose your wedding color palette? I chose soft colors-  white, champagne and cream colors with black accents.  I chose these colors because I wanted a vintage and romantic feeling to the wedding and I thought these colors represented that well.

Do you have any advice for brides that are in the planning process? Enjoy every moment and don’t stress about the small stuff!

What was your favorite part of your big day?  Marrying the man of my dreams!  I LOVED how our ceremony turned out.  It was perfect. The Contemporary Art Center was romantic and was very intimate.  I loved the exposed brick and dark wood. It was just the feel I wanted! We had someone playing acoustic music throughout the ceremony which I loved.

One thing I really loved that I did was letting my bridesmaids pick out their own dress. I said they could wear whatever as long as it was black. Worked out perfect!

What song did you dance to for your first dance?  We chose Be Mine by David Gray.  What made this moment really special was his Brother’s live acoustic performance of the song.
