Today’s fabulous featured wedding comes from Miranda Marrs Photography, a North Texas based wedding photographer. Miranda has been so sweet and accommodating to GSS and we have truly enjoyed working with her on this feature.
Here’s what Miranda had to say about this sweet couple: They were such a loving, cuddly couple and were so natural and unposed in front of the camera. Pair that with the location (scouted out while driving down a random country road) and it was a photographer’s dream session!
Lindsey and Scott are to be married on June 25, 2011 in Playa del Carmen!!! Lindsey was kind enough to answer a few questions for us:
How did you and Scott meet? Scott and I met through mutual friends at a birthday party. We never really got to talk at the party, but I added him on Facebook, he messaged me, and we started talking non-stop.
How long did you date before the proposal OR How long have you been together? Scott proposed on July 16, 2010. We had been dating for 14 months before the proposal.
Have you set a date yet? We are getting married June 25, 2011.
Have you picked your venue? If so, what made you choose this location? We are getting married in Playa Del Carmen. The resort we chose is called The Royal by Real Resorts. We chose this resort for many reasons. Our travel agent had personally visited this resort and assured us it was truly first class. Also, the resort is located close to the shopping area of the city, Mayan ruins, and a few other fun attractions. The Royal is an adults only resort, but the Gran Porto, it’s sister property across the street, will accommodate our guests with families.
At what point did you know that Scott was “the one”? I knew Scott was the one early on. He is truly the kindest, most generous, loving man I’ve ever met. We have so much fun together! He’s not bad looking either!
Besides getting engaged, what is your favorite memory as a couple? Scott and I have a lot of great memories. We really enjoy traveling. We’ve taken trips to places like Jamaica and San Francisco. I think my favorite trips are the simplest ones. One of my favorite times with Scott is when pack up our dogs, Petey and Scout, and rent a cabin in a place like Arkansas or Oklahoma. We love just relaxing together outside by the fire, playing cards and eating S’mores.
How did Scott propose? Were you surprised? One day Scott came home from work. I had met him at his condo and we were planning on going to dinner. He seemed to be acting a little jumpy, but I wasn’t sure why. As we were getting ready to go, he was in his room for a while. When I asked him what he was doing he nervously replied, “Uhhhh, nothing!” (Later I found out he was trying to get the ring in his pocket but the box wouldn’t fit!) When he came out of the room, he walked up to me, gave me a kiss and got down on one knee. A few seconds later, I was on the floor with him – crying and hugging him. I was so excited and SO surprised. Turns out, he had gotten the ring that day and had been too excited to keep it a secret.
What made you choose Miranda as your photographer? Mirandaand I went to high school together in McAlester, OK. I saw her on Facebook when a friend suggested I become a fan of her page. I really liked the pictures on her site and thought she’d be great for our engagement photos. When I emailed her about booking a session I mentioned the dogs and she told me she had the perfect spot – an old tree with a tire swing! We have had so many compliments from all of our friends and family. Scott and I couldn’t be happier about the way the photos turned out. Miranda was really great to work with and the pictures are awesome!
Thank you so much, Miranda, for sharing this amazing engagement session with us! Please stop by her website and blog and show her some love! And thank you, Lindsey, for taking your time to answer our questions! We hope your wedding is everything that you have ever dreamed of and wish you and Scott a lifetime full of love, laughter, and happiness!!! May every day be better than the last!
