GSS Featured Wedding Professional :: Allison Davis Photography :: Sarah Beth & Chris Wedding in a Hot Air Balloon Over Las Vegas!

HELLO from Las Vegas!! Well, we didn’t go to Vegas, but Sarah Beth and Chris did and Allison Davis has the awesome pictures to prove it! Allison has been a dream to work with for this feature. Thank you for sending us such a fun wedding and great job on capturing this wedding so elegantly in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.

We were able to ask Sarah Beth a few questions. Take it away Sarah Beth….

How did you and Chris (husband) meet?
We met at Fellowship Church. It was an ordinary Sunday morning. Sarah Beth was arriving early to the 2-3 grade classroom at Fellowship Church. She was going to get everything prepared for services prior to Pastor Kenneth or volunteers arriving. Typically she was the first to arrive; after all, that girl was always an early bird. This Sunday, however, she was very surprised to find someone else in the room. Chris was home for the weekend and was planning on volunteering that Sunday morning. Slightly flustered, Sarah Beth said hi before going behind the stage to “prepare the props” for service.

Months later Chris was home again. The two of them went to Whataburger with Kenneth one Saturday night after church….this is where the friendship and love story began. Neither of them realized this was the first of a lifetime of Whataburgers together.

How long have you been together?
2 years & 4 months

How did Chris propose?
Chris works for his church where he is a video editor for the children’s curriculum it produces. We were filming a Christmas themed series at a toy store. Sarah Beth was called in to be an extra (someone shopping in the background) and had no idea what was about to happen. Chris came out in the horse costume (a recurring character I play known as the Hat Stealin’ Horse) and the rest is history…

We LOVE this ::  here is the video!

What was the deciding factor for the hot air balloon wedding?
We wanted to have a very intimate wedding that would be fun and memorable. I started to research different weddings in Las Vegas & when I listed them off, Chris LOVED the Hot Air Balloon. We made a couple of phone calls & ended up picking Hot Air Balloon Rides Las Vegas.

Your dress is gorgeous, where did you get it and how did you know it was “the one”?
I got it at David’s Bridal . It was the only dress I didn’t want to take off….I kept walking around in it. My friend Maggie picked it out (so glad she has great taste!). I needed a different size than the one I tried on & they had it in the back still in the box. It makes me really excited that I’m the only one who’s worn this dress.

What was it like being literally on “cloud nine” as you said “I do”?
It was unbelievable! To think our first steps as a married couple were on air is pretty remarkable. The entire ceremony was surreal.

What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”?
I didn’t think about this until now! My dress was new & my shoes were old….but borrowed & blue we didn’t have anything.

Did you have any of your family friends with you and Chris during the wedding?
Our immediate family came with us & my dear friend Connie came from Los Angeles. It was great to have loving support with us.

The portraits were so fun! Did you feel like a rock-star walking the strip with your new husband?
Allison did such a great job of making us feel relaxed. J We did feel like rock stars with our own paparazzi. It was fun & a memorable time. We’re still trying to decide which prints to put on canvas.

Do you have any advice for brides that are in the planning process?
Remember it’s your day! What can you do that will make it a memorable day without stressing yourself out?

What was your favorite part of your big day?
Becoming Mrs. Oldenburg! I love being Chris’ wife!
