GSS Featured Wedding :: Shasta & Lance’s Mexico Beach Wedding :: Arden Prucha Photography

Today’s fabulous featured engagement comes from Arden Prucha Photography a Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas based wedding photographer.  Does her name sound familiar?  It should!  We featured the amazing engagement session of Shasta & Lance back in December.  If you have never laid eyes on their super HOT engagement session, please click here to check it out!  And we’re so honored to being featuring their wedding today!!!  Arden has been so sweet and accommodating to GSS and we have truly enjoyed working with her on this feature.

Shasta and Lance  were married on February 5, 2011 in Playa del Carmen.   Shasta was kind enough to answer a few questions for us:

How did you and Lance meet?  We met through mutual friends. I was finishing school and waiting tables and he came in with some friends. I blew him off on our first date- haha. Then we finally went out and I was in love.

How long have you been together?  We will be together two years in April. A true whirlwind romance.

How did Lance propose?  He got his mom and sister to come kidnap me for a day of shopping. I arrived home that night to a long stem rose on the door with a note. I opened the front door and there were over 200 candles and flowers everywhere. Took my breath away. There was a trail of Hershey kisses throughout the house with long stem roses and letters about why he loved me so much that he had hand written. I walked into the bedroom and he was on one knee. I started bawling. I couldn’t tell you what he said I just remember holding his face in my hands because his sweet voice was shaking.

What made you decide on a destination wedding?  We chose a destination wedding because we both wanted a non traditional more personal wedding. We both love the beach and both of our families are small and love to travel. I would definately recommend a destination wedding to anyone who is considering!

What sold you on your wedding venue?  We knew that we wanted to have our wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico because that is where we had our first vacation and it only takes 2 hours to get there. I researched resorts for many many hours! I fell in love with Azul Sensatori because of the beautiful modern decor and their attention to detail of weddings. It was an all around wonderful experience.

Your dress is gorgeous, where did you get it and how did you know it was “the one”?  Thank you! I found my dress at Stardust Celebrations in Dallas, Texas. I tried on about 14 dresses and saved my favorite for last. It was a beautiful Monique Lhuilllier. I put it on and my mom said i had the biggest smile on my face and i said “This is IT”!

What song did you dance to for your first dance?  Brad Paisley “Then” Its an amazing song :)

What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”?  My something old was my great grandmothers hankerchief, something new was the diamond earrings my dad gave me, something borrowed and blue was my mother’s garter.

How did you choose your wedding color palette?  My favorite color has always been blue and I met with my wedding invitation designer and she had these beautiful peacock blue envelopes and I went from there. Its a hard color to match! Then i loved the blue with hot pink flowers.

Do you have any advice for brides that are in the planning process?  The main advice I would have is go with what you want. Don’t try and please others. Be true to what you feel in your heart and it will turn out beautiful!
